BEAT RUTGERS 24-22
What worked
North Carolina's defensive line not only held the Scarlet Knights to 1 net rushing yard, it also led a first-quarter goal-line stand that proved pivotal after Tar Heels quarterback Bryn Renner threw his first interception.
What needs work
Saturday's win marked the first time the Tar Heels (2-0) have committed five turnovers since 2008, when they coughed up the ball six times against Virginia Tech. It also was the first time they won a game with so many turnovers since 1995 at Louisville, when UNC won 17-10 despite turning the ball over five times.
What's next
UNC opens its ACC schedule Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. home game at Kenan Stadium against Virginia (2-0).
