Suspect held in Chapel Hill bank robbery

— Police on Thursday arrested a 40-year-old Hillsborough man who they say robbed the SunTrust Bank on Dobbins Drive in Chapel Hill.

The suspect entered the bank at 2:22 p.m. and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a silver Volkswagen Beetle headed toward Erwin Road. No weapon was used, police said.

A short time later, Orange County sheriff's deputies detained David Lee Loman of Lannie Drive without incident near his home.

Loman has been charged with common law robbery and was being held Thursday in lieu of $40,000 bail.
