Being a designer resale boutique, Dress knows a thing or two about recycling. So it's no surprise that the store's new line has a recycled spin.

The store's latest collection, Reuse jeans, look and feel new, but they come with a history. Each pair is made of 80 percent recycled premium denim - fabric from Joe's Jeans, Paige Premium Denim, Rock and Republic and the like - plus 18.5 percent new denim and 1.5 percent spandex to give it a bit of stretch.

"They are made of ultra-soft denim with some stretch and a special cut in the seat that makes them look and feel like no other denim you have ever had on," says Dress owner Pam Mullaney. "They are the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn and they look great on everyone."

The jeans come in a rainbow of colors - everything from dark denim to red and purple - as well as a variety of fits, including skinnies and higher-waisted pairs with more of a flare on the leg.

Dress has several styles in store now, with more on the way. Dress is in the Ridgewood Shopping Center, 3528 Wade Ave., Raleigh. 699-6505, dressraleigh.com.

What's in the trunk?

Fall trunk shows continue this week with three accessories events. Here's the rundown:

Roberto Coin's latest jewelry pieces - chunky bracelets, rings, necklaces and more - will be at Saks Fifth Avenue in Triangle Town Center for a trunk show Friday. To make an appointment, call 792-9100, ext. 5318. Saks Fifth Avenue is at 7700 Old Wake Forest Road, Raleigh.

Boots are the word this week at Main & Taylor. Vaneli comes to town with an array of boots and booties from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. During the show, the Vaneli rep will also have samples from Italian shoemaker, Sesto Meucci. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, the store will welcome a representative from Elaine Turner, who will bring some of the label's newest boots, shoes and handbags. Main & Taylor is in North Hills at 4421 Six Forks Road, Raleigh. 821-1556.

Sharing is caring

Ready or not, the holiday shopping season is almost upon us. And that means Macy's annual Thanks for Sharing holiday rewards program has started again. Customers can sign up now through Dec. 31 for a one-time fee of $25. Members receive 10 percent back on purchases made with their Macy's card. For every person who signs up, Macy's will donate $10 to one of four charities - the American Heart Association's Go Red movement, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Futures Without Violence. For more information about the program, visit macys.com/thanksforsharing .
