Four Iredell County men are in a Cabarrus County jail, facing charges in connection with an overnight home invasion in Concord, police say.
According to investigators, the suspects forced their way into the house after telling the occupants they were police officers.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. at a residence in the 500 block of Old Charlotte Road. Police say four men came to the home and got inside after saying they were with the police.
One suspect had a handgun and another had pepper spray, police say. They used duct tape to bind the hands and feet of the four adults in the home at the time.
Police say the four men rummaged the house, removing TV sets, cash and electronics. According to several reports, the suspects were not able to fit a plasma TV into their car, so they ran over it.
According to police, one resident was able to get free and called 911. With a description of the four men and their car, and information on which direction the men were headed in, police say they were able to spot the vehicle at U.S. 29 and Cabarrus Avenue in Concord.
Police say they recovered stolen items at the time.
The four adults and a child living in the house were not injured.
