Students from West Johnston High School's Health Occupations Students of America club attended the group's National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., last summer.
Waleed Ahmed, now a sophomore, was the top winner in the nation for his event in the competition, Clinical Specialty. Victoria Robertson, who graduated in June, placed ninth in Clinical Nursing.
Taylor Shuler, now a senior at Middle College High School, was awarded the Barbara James Service Award and the Presidential Silver Medal for volunteering.
Also participating from West Johnston were Meghan Drum, Kellie Tyner, Karrie Tyner, Amy Staton, Ben Ennis and Evan Dufresne.
