Julia Rose Rumford and Richard Kenan Lauchlin Bethune were married Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Chevy Chase, Maryland at All Saints Episcopal Church. Rev. Jacob Smith officiated the 5:00 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Chevy Chase Club.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rumford, III and granddaughter of Mrs. Eleanor Rosenfeld and the late Samuel Jay Rosenfeld all of Washington, D.C., and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rumford, II of Baltimore, Maryland. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fulton Bethune of Rocky Mount. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marian Ralphs Hicks of Laguna Niguel, California and the late Mr. Thomas Westray Hicks of Rocky Mount and of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Cave Bethune, Sr. of Lumberton. The maid of honor was Miss Grace Eleanor Rumford of Beijing, China, sister of the bride. Other bridal attendants were Miss Caroline Westray Bethune, sister of the groom of Raleigh, Miss Lisa Marie Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Miss Victoria Renee Clinton of New York, New York, Mrs. Anne Marie Dudas Moehring of Greenville, South Carolina, Miss Alison Elizabeth Musto of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Kathleen Miller Simcoe of San Francisco, California.The best man was Richard Fulton Bethune, father of the groom. Additional groomsmen were William Lewis Rumford, brother of the bride of Washington, D.C. , John David Walker, Jr. of Raleigh and Kenan Stewart Walker of Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina, cousins of the groom, Dillon Tyson Atwood of New York, New York, Elias Raphael Gottlieb Schulze of Lagos, Nigeria, Andrew Elwes Siegel of Palo Alto, California, and James Goodrich Wright, III of Athens, Georgia. Following graduation from Stone Ridge School in Bethesda, Maryland, the bride was a cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University. Currently, she is employed as a Business Development Manager with Inzone Group. Following graduation from McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the groom was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia where he was a Jefferson Scholar. Currently, he is employed as a Case Research Fellow with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. Following a honeymoon trip to the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvannia, the couple is residing in Beijing, China.
