As I was driving to Clayton on Interstate 40 Monday, I learned of the tragic accident that took the life of a couple and their unborn child on the interstate. I said a prayer for the precious child who was seriously injured, and I thanked God for her life and the care her parents showed by buckling her into her infant seat.

That afternoon, as I was returning home from Clayton on I-40 west, my blood ran cold as I was passed by a pink Cadillac. I watched with horror as a small child on the front passenger seat jumped up and down while facing the rear of the vehicle. Before I was able to dial 911 the car took the I-440 exit.

Pink Cadillacs are not very common; I hope the driver and the family of this precious child will see this letter and realize that life is precious, and often much shorter than we realize. As we enter the Thanksgiving season, I pray that we will be mindful of the awesome responsibility that has been entrusted to us.
