Wake board appoints leaders for five schools

The Wake County school board appointed one principal and several interim principals on Tuesday.

Robert Bendel was named principal of Jones Dairy Elementary School in Wake Forest with a salary of $88,221. He's currently a senior administrator in Wake schools' Human Resources Department and was a principal in Franklin County.

Teresa Abron was appointed interim principal of Durant Road Middle School in North Raleigh with a salary equivalent to $118,164.80 a year. She has been principal of Dillard Drive Middle, Fox Road Elementary and Lincoln Heights Elementary.

Ramey Beavers was named interim principal of the Wake Early College of Health and Sciences in Raleigh with a salary equivalent to $119,307.84 a year. He has been principal of West Lake Middle and Cary High.

Thomas Dixon's contract as interim principal at Middle Creek High School in Cary was extended. He has led the school since October; his salary is equivalent to $131,580 a year.

Edward Gainor's contract as interim principal of Brassfield Elementary School in North Raleigh was also extended. He has led the school since October; his salary is equivalent to $105,490.16 a year.
