Angier man's death considered a homicide

From staff reportsNovember 25, 2011

An Angier man found dead in his home late on Thanksgiving appears to have died as a result of a homicide, according to Harnett County sheriff's investigators.

An EMS unit was called to the home at 22 Packhouse Ct. at about 11 p.m. Thursday and found Shawn Brandon Scott, 25, dead. A statement from the Harnet County Sheriff's Office says Scott's injuries "are consistent with that of a homicide," but did not provide details.

The sheriff's office said its investigation was in the early stages Friday and that it would not release additional information.

Scott's body was taken to Betsy Johnson Hospital and will be sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
