Cary police search for suspect in early morning car break-ins

— Police are searching for the person or persons who broke into several cars in central Cary this morning.

Cary investigators said three incidents occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Urban Drive. Someone took jewelry and electronics from the vehicles, according to a town press release made public this morning.

The police are asking homeowners and motorists in the Urban Drive area to report any suspicious activity near unattended vehicles.

Investigators are also asking anyone with information about the break-ins to call the Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E). Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of those responsible for committing certain types of crimes. All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at caller's request.
