DURHAM -- Police released the name of a driver killed in a one-vehicle weekend accident on U.S. 15-501 South near the N.C. 751 exit.
The accident occurred at 2:18 a.m. Sunday when Douglas Rashawn Rucker, 25, of South Adams Street lost control of a 2007 Nissan Altima and ran off the side of the road. The car struck a metal sign pole.
Rucker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed and alcohol were factors in the accident, according to investigators.
