UNC senior forward Tyler Zeller played one of his better halves of the season on Saturday night. Perhaps his best. Zeller finished the first half with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. He also added four rebounds.
The Tar Heels entered the game with a significant size advantage and they exploited it against the Mountaineers. North Carolina ended the first half with a 32-12 advantage in the paint.
John Edwards, the former U.S. Senator, watched the game from seven rows behind the North Carolina bench.
