Southern Living gives Raleigh some love
Subscribers to Southern Living may have noticed their hometown getting some attention recently.
First, Raleigh chef Ashley Christensen of Poole's Diner has her meatloaf-and-mashed potato sandwich recipe featured in an article about comfort foods in the January issue.
Then Raleigh is one of 10 cities in the running to be named the "Tastiest Town in the South." The magazine is conducting an online poll and the public has until Jan. 31 to cast their votes. However, Raleigh is lagging in the poll numbers. It is currently 9th with about 5,000 votes while Lafayette, La., is in first place with more than 75,000 votes.
