When his debut CD, "Country Club," was released in 1990, Travis Tritt took his place alongside Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and other A-list stars who would rule the airwaves throughout the decade. The Marietta, Ga., native hit the big time with attitude and the songs to back it up. "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)," "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" (with Marty Stuart), "I'm Gonna Be Somebody," and "Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof" defined his sound and helped raise the bar for his generation of country stars. On Saturday at 8 p.m., Tritt brings his hits and more to the stage of Durham's Carolina Theatre. www.carolinatheatre.org
