An accident has been reported at the intersection of Wade Avenue and Glenwood Avenue just after 7:45 a.m. according to Raleigh emergency dispatch.
The accident, reported at 7:45 a.m., appears to be weather related, Dickson said. Rain is pouring heavily on the Triangle this morning. No serious injuries have been reported, according to Raleigh watch commander Captain George Dickson, but one lane is blocked on Wade Avenue.
Another accident on the Durham freeway is causing serious delays to traffic heading northbound.
A single-vehicle accident was reported at Alexander Drive on the Durham freeway at 7:31 a.m. A vehicle ran into a guardrail.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the accident is unknown.
Two more accidents have been reported in Orange County on I-85 heading north this morning.
The first, a single-vehicle crash, was reported at 6:05 a.m. at mile marker 164, according to Jimmy Summey, of the Orange County 911 center. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center.
The second accident was reported at 6:39 a.m. A car hit a median wall on I-85 near mile marker 157. No injuries were reported.
The two accidents are not related. Causes of each accident have not been determined.
Traffic on I-85 is not being seriously affected by the accidents, but the shoulder on I-85 near Buckhorn Road was expected to be closed at least until 7:30 a.m., according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.
