A fixture of the Triangle's acoustic music scene, Danny Gotham is a respected music teacher, performer and recording artist. He is also a member of the Community Church of Chapel Hill, and he dedicates "Sundays" as "a celebration of a wonderful spiritual community, as well as a 'thank you' to all my church family for their loyal support over the years."
But "Sundays" is not just for church folk. It is a lovely 10-track CD filled with gorgeous arrangements of familiar and rarely heard songs and tunes, with atmospheres that soothe and enable quiet reflection on the world as it is, and as it could be.
Gotham plays all instruments, including guitars, mandolin and ukulele on a varied repertoire ranging from the Beatles' "In My Life" and the finger-picked delight "Spanish Fandango," to the Shaker hymn "Simple Gifts," "The White Cliffs of Dover" and "Amazing Grace."
