Friends Matthew Wood and Spencer Paige, both of Raleigh, have earned their Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.

For his Eagle project, Matt built a 20-foot-long footbridge for a nature trail as Brassfield Road Elementary School.

Spencer's Eagle project was building a split-rail fence along the edge of the parking lot at Shelters 4 and 5 at Sandling Beach in Falls Lake State Recreation Area to prevent cars from damaging buried electrical and water lines to unload at the shelters.

Matt, the son of Jim and Kim Wood, and Spencer, the son of Mark and Mynn Paige, both are members of Troop 215, sponsored by the Homeowners Association of the Coachman's Trail subdivision. Matt is a senior at Millbrook High School and Spencer is a junior at St. David's School.
