Students, families and staff from the St. Thomas More School in Chapel Hill held a one-mile walk to raise money for humanitarian assistance in Africa last fall.

Students, with help from sponsors in the community, raised more than $10,000 with The Walk for Africa Now to help relieve the effects of severe drought across the continent.

Students planned to continue raising money for the cause throughout the year by doing extra chores at home.
