As the board chair of North Carolina Theatre, I extend our thanks to The N&O for your robust reporting of the recent opening of the musical "American Idiot." This is an exciting story for Raleigh and the Progress Energy Center, but your article was missing one key player: N.C. Theatre.

In an innovative move to create a more diverse season line-up, N.C. Theatre is partnering with the city's Broadway Series South on three of the six shows in our 2012 season. "A Christmas Story, The Musical," "American Idiot" and "Les Miserables" are all touring productions in which NCT and BSS are equal partners. "Steel Magnolias," "Oliver!" and "Legally Blonde, The Musical" will be produced solely by N.C. Theatre with local artists showcased alongside outstanding Broadway talent. Musical theater fans are the real winners in this new collaboration!

N.C. Theatre has been your "Broadway connection" since 1984 and we invite you to join our audience!
