Deylan Buntyn, DT, 6-4, 330, Havelock: Spent two years at New Mexico Military, playing nose guard. Enrolled at NCSU for spring.

Robert Caldwell, LB, 6-3, 235, Twentynine Palms, Calif.: Two-year starter at College of Desert, could compete for starting job with Pack.

Niles Clark, DB, 5-10, 173, Marietta, Ga.: Had 40 tackles and four interceptions as senior at Lassiter High.

Marchez Coates, DB, 5-11, 172, Pomfret, Md.: Had 86 tackles, including 12 for a loss, as senior.

Drew Davis, LB, 6-3, 230, Raleigh: Broughton High standout was all-conference pick past three seasons. Had 150 tackles as senior.

Eddie Gordan, OL, 6-2, 305, Boiling Springs, S.C.: Playing center, helped Boiling Springs High to 10-4 record as senior.

Xavier Griffin, WR, 6-3, 185, Newark, Del.: First-team all-state choice helped Newark High to 12-1 record last season.

David Grinnage, TE, Newark, Del., 6-5, 240: Griffin's teammate, also was first-team all-state and caught 43 passes.

Charlie Hegedus WR, 6-2, 195, Marietta, Ga.: Speedy wideout had 69 catches for 1,156 yards and 12 TDs as senior.

K'Hadree Hooker, DT, 6-2, 285, Deep Run: Played defensive tackle and defensive end at South Lenoir High.

J.J. Jones, DB, 6-4, 205, Lithonia, Ga.: Rangy defensive back teamed with Kenderius Whitehead to help Martin Luther King High to 12-2 record.

Bryce Kennedy, OL, 6-4, 285, Southern Pines: Enrolled at NCSU for the spring. Played in 2011 Shrine Bowl.

Tyler Knox, DE, 6-4, 225, Myrtle Beach, S.C.: Named defensive MVP in S.C. North-South All-Star Game.

Quincy McKinney, OL, 6-4, 300, Fork Union, Va.: Enrolled at NCSU for spring. Signed with South Carolina out of high school.

Desmond Owino, DE, 6-5, 235, Raleigh: Kenya native has played one year of football but impressed with speed, athleticism at Sanderson High.

M.J. Salahuddin, LB, 6-2, 192, Fayetteville: Moved to linebacker as senior at Britt High and had 110 tackles. Played in Shrine Bowl.

Josh Sessoms, DB, 6-3, 185, Bailey: Three-year star at Southern Nash High. Captained football, basketball teams.

Manny Stocker, QB, 6-3, 200, Coatesville, Pa.:Enrolled at NCSU in spring. Passed for nearly 2,000 yards, 20 TDs as senior.

Shadrach Thornton, RB, 6-1, 200, Hinesville, Ga.: Rushed for 1,738 yards, sixth-best in Georgia, and scored 17 TDs as senior at Liberty County High.

John Tu'uta, OL, 6-2, 325, Fredricksburg, Va.: Played on high school team at Fork Union at center and guard. Father, Sione, played pro rugby.

Kenderius Whitehead, DE, 6-4, 220, Lithonia, Ga.: Had 103 tackles last season and his 16 sacks led state of Georgia. All-state choice.

Joe Wright, DE, 6-7, 235, Greenville: Had 35 tackles and two sacks as senior at Rose High. Has impressive size.

Incoming players also include quarterback Pete Thomas (6-5, 225), who will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Colorado State.
