Boulton slashed New York Rangers forward Mike Rupp on Tuesday. Boll delivered an illegal check to the head of Sharks forward Joe Thornton.

Sabres recall Kassian: Buffalo recalled rookie forward Zack Kassian from Rochester of the American Hockey League.

The move was made a day after leading goal scorer Thomas Vanek sustained an upper body injury.
