How ironic, or rather misleading, that John Tedesco is now claiming credit for improving the accreditation of Wake County high schools. In June 2010, Tedesco was the only school board member to vote against retaining membership in the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, the accreditation division of AdvancED. Tedesco has previously been highly critical of AdvancEd, which is recognized nationally by colleges and universities as well as the military for evaluating academic programs. His hypocrisy in claiming any part of the school system's upgrade is a clear reminder that he cannot be trusted to advocate on behalf of Wake students, and certainly not as state superintendent.
