In response to the Jan. 27 letter "Public school tuition," I hope the writer has secured a remote island in which to relocate. This island would have to be void of neighbors, stores, policemen, firemen, hospitals and basically any situation that requires an adult body to fulfill.
Whether or not one chooses to have children, the fact still remains that "children" are our future. Everyone is affected by what children become. With education children become productive, functioning influences in society. Without education, that is virtually impossible. If anything, we should strive to see more of our tax dollars go toward education.
Chances are, given a choice, one would choose to reside in a community of educated people. Remember, these "educated" people had the humble beginnings as children, in need of education.
