RALEIGH -- Police charged two Raleigh men with drug possession Saturday and also charged one of them with illegally having two handguns that officers said they found while executing a search warrant.
Emil Giles Hanner, 32, of 528 Bridle Path Drive was charged with possession of a gun by a felon after officers said they found 9 mm and a .380-caliber guns in the house. They did not indicate whether the guns were loaded.
A judge in Guilford County put Hanner on probation in 2001 after he was convicted of drug possession, state prison records show. Raleigh police said in their arrest warrant that the charge involved cocaine. He also has convictions for numerous charges of breaking into cars and stealing items, according to the state.
