First Lady Michelle Obama will headline a Raleigh fundraiser on March 2 for her husband's re-election campaign, a campaign official said Sunday.

The event, benefiting the Obama Victory Fund, will be a North Carolina Women for Obama luncheon that will be held at the City Center Marriott.

Tickets start at $500 a person.

The Obama campaign is cranking up its political effort in the state. Last week it opened up its fifth office in the state, with a new office in Wilmington. It also has offices in Fayetteville, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte.
