RALEIGH -- Police charged Mark Anthony Rollins, 37, of Raleigh, with assault with a deadly weapon Saturday night after they said he struck a neighbor with a pipe on Church Street.

Police also charged Rollins, of 615 Church St., with damaging a table and the frame of a front door, with owning a dog that bit the neighbor and with allowing a dog to run loose.

The neighbor, Leonidas Rojas-Guzman, was taken to WakeMed, but no details of his injuries were available.

Police responded to a complaint late Friday night about the table and door being broken, spokesman Jim Sughrue said. A fight was reported at about 1:30 Saturday morning.

Rollins was ordered held on a $25,000 bond at the Wake County Jail. He served a state prison sentence for robbery with a dangerous weapon in 2001, according to state Department of Correction records.
