The New York Yankees signed infielder Bill Hall to a minor league deal with an invitation to major league spring training on Tuesday.

The deal was confirmed on the team's website and Hall also posted the news on his Twitter account, saying: "IT'S OFFICAL I'M A YANKEE!!!!!!!!."

Hall, 32, split time last season with the Houston Astros and the San Francisco Giants. In 62 games, he hit .211 with two home runs and 14 RBI.

A 10-year veteran, Hall broke into the major leagues in 2002 with the Milwaukee Brewers and enjoyed his best offensive season in 2006, when he hit .270 with 35 home runs and 85 RBI in 148 games.

In 1,046 games, Hall is a career .248 hitter with 124 home runs and 439 RBI.
