The Jason Young murder trial continued on Wednesday with prosecutors building their case in a similar fashion to the first time the medical software salesman was tried in Wake County Superior Court.

But Meredith Fisher, the sister of Michelle Young, the victim found bludgeoned to death on Nov. 3, 2006, highlighted something her niece said on a 911 tape, something that was not brought up during the first trial.

Fisher called 911 dispatchers from the master bedroom of the Youngs' Wake County home, telling dispatchers that Michelle Young was cold to the touch.

In a tape of that call, prosecutors pointed out today, Cassidy Young, the toddler daughter of Jason and Michelle Young and Fisher's niece, is heard in the background.

During that call, Meredith Fisher asked her niece what happened to her mother. She asked the child if anyone had been in the house and told the dispatcher she was not sure Cassidy understood what was going on.

Wake County Assistant District Attorney asked Fisher: "What was going on that led you to say that?"

Fisher responded: "Earlier in the phone call, she had referenced her father. When I asked her further questions, she was saying 'he.'"

Cassidy Young, who is 7 years old now, lives with Meredith Fisher. The girl is on the witness list, as she was in the first trial, but she was not called eight months ago to testify.

That trial ended with a hung jury, eight for acquittal and four for conviction.

Young testified in his defense then. It is unclear whether he will take the stand in this trial.

Fisher said Cassidy Young continued to talk about her father after emergency workers came to the house to begin the investigation into Michelle Young's death.

"When we were in the fire truck, she continued to talk about her father," Fisher said.

Prosecutors contend Jason Young killed his wife in the early morning hours of Nov. 3, 2006, when his daughter was home.

They argued eight months ago that Cassidy Young was cleaned up by someone after tracking bloody footprints from the spot where her mother was found dead to a bathroom down the hall.

Prosecutors contended that someone might have drugged the girl with medicine afterward.

Fisher's testimony was followed by Shelly Schaad, a former sorority sister of Michelle Young.

She again offered a portrait of Jason Young as an irresponsible party boy.

Once at pre-wedding party at Schaad 's home, he took up a dare and urinated in his pants in the middle of the room in front of a crowd. Schaad 's husband Ryan helped his drunk friend into the shower. Before he put on the change of clothes his friend offered, Jason Young, according to Schaad, got out of the shower and paraded through the party naked.

On other occasions, Schaad said, Jason Young exposed himself at parties in front of men and women. Occasionally, his wife was present.

Jason Young also was said to have swallowed the wedding ring of a woman visiting his house and insisted that she remain there until after the jewelry had passed through his body.
