N.C. State's Scott Wood made both of his free throws in the first half, which extended his ACC record for consecutive free throws made to 65 and left him with the fourth-longest streak in NCAA history. His streak ended early in the second half, hough, when he finally missed.

The Wolfpack's C.J. Williams briefly left the court early in the game with an unknown injury, but he was back quickly and led the Wolfpack with 11 points in the first half.

Georgia Tech outrebounded N.C. State 24-14 in the first half, including 13-4 on the offensive end, but the Yellow Jackets rarely converted those second chances, making 28.1 percent of their shots.

With Alexander Memorial Coliseum being renovated, the game was played at the Atlanta Hawks' Philips Arena. Plenty of good seats were available all night - and there was a sizeable contingent of Wolfpack fans on hand.
