Recap: Northern Colorado vs. Montana

Will Cherry poured in a season-high 30 points and collected eight steals to lead the Montana Grizzlies to a 75-68 victory over theNorthern Colorado Bears in a Big Sky matchup at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.

Montana (18-6, 11-1 Big Sky) also got 12 points a piece from Kareem Jamar and Derek Selvig in winning its seventh straight game.

Mike Proctor scored 18 to lead Northern Colorado (7-16, 4-8) which has lost six of its last seven. Tate Unruh added 15, Connor Osborne put in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Tevin Svihovec chipped in 10 points for the Bears.

Montana led at the half by a slim 36-35 margin by shooting 46.2 percent from the floor.

Northern Colorado came out of the locker room shooting well and led 55-52 with 10:25 remaining. The Grizzlies responded by rattling off a 23-6 run that gave them their biggest lead of the game with the score of 75-61 with 1:53 remaining. The lead was enough to hold off a 7-0 advantage for the Bears that ended the game.

Montana was extremely disruptive on defense and turned 27 Northern Colorado turnovers into 36 points.
