Interstate 77 was temporarily shut down in Davidson following a wreck early Friday evening.
The crash happened on southbound I-77 near exit 30 and Lake Norman.
At least four cars were involved in the wreck in the southbound lane. One of the cars involved had been turned in the opposite direction as a result of the crash and was badly damaged.
Paramedics said at least one person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries described as potentially life threatening.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Tuesday afternoon they are looking for a man who allegedly cut off his electronic monitoring device about the same time he was due in court.
