Regarding the Feb. 8 letter "Fired trooper wins appeal": Let Charles Jones have a job with the State Highway Patrol, but not with the K-9 unit, and a trial period on a desk job while completing anger management counseling. And whoever in the department decided that "abuse" is the same thing as "discipline" needs the same.
Get a professional trainer for the dogs and the officers who will work with them.
