Lou Williams vs. the Bobcats' bench: The Sixers' sixth man also is their leading scorer at 15.6 points per game. The Sixers are all about energy and depth, and the Bobcats haven't had much of either in a 14-game losing streak.
Observations
Doug Collins is a huge early favorite for NBA Coach of the Year. He's projected his passion for the game on his players, yet softened the intensity that interfered with his message earlier in his coaching career.
It says plenty about the ensemble nature of this team that former No. 2 overall pick Evan Turner is coming off the bench, and seems to have no problem with that.
Center Spencer Hawes has been out with a strained left Achilles tendon.
The Bobcats don't expect to get back point guard D.J. Augustin (inflammation in his right big toe) before Wednesday (in Minneapolis) at the earliest.
