Four men arrested in Siler City home invasion

Four men have been arrested after a home invasion Friday night on Dave McCracken Road in Siler City in which a man was tied up with duct tape and robbed.

Robert Steven Gerringer, 17; Brandon Neill Cook, 20; and Austin Terrell, 18, all of Pittsboro, have been arrested. Tanner Kyle Morgan, 19, of Siler City, was also arrested, according to a report issued by the Chatham County sheriff's office. All four men have been charged with felony second degree burglary, felony second degree kidnapping, and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to the report.

John Matthews, of 858 Dave McCracken Road, notified the Chatham County Sheriff's Office that four men forced their way into his home about 9 p.m. Friday, according to the press release. One man, who was armed with a shotgun, tied up Matthews and stole undisclosed items. Matthews was later untied and was not harmed.

The four men are each being held under a $5,000 bond.

The case is still under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
