Bears men win CIAA Southern division

Shaw defeated Johnson Smith C. Smith 94-74 in men's college basketball Monday night to clinch the CIAA Southern division.

Shaw improved to 21-2 overall, 13-0 in the conference and 7-0 in the Southern. Visiting Johnson C. Smith moved to 10-13 overall, 5-8 in the league and 3-4 in the division.

Shaw got double-figure scoring from four players, led by Malik Alvin and Karron Johnson, who had 20 points each. Junius Chaney added 17 points and Tony Smith had 11 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists.

Phillip Wood led the Golden Bulls with 15 points. He added seven rebounds. Trevin Parks chipped in 14 points and Delonta Boyd added 11.
