Raleigh man killed in crash on New Falls of Neuse Road

— A 65-year-old man died this morning after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a tree.

Charles Frederick Odom, of 9309 Greenfield Drive in Raleigh, was taken to WakeMed where he died, according to police spokesman Jim Sughrue.

Odom was traveling eastbound on New Falls of Neuse Road just after 7:30 a.m. when his 2000 Chevrolet moved into another eastbound lane, collided with a 1996 Ford driven by Karen Hollifield Marlow, 43, of Spring Hope, and then ran off the right side of the road, according to the accident report.

No charges have been filed in the case.
