In your Feb. 13 article "Messy divorce may hurt Faison," you have chosen to print untruths about my Dad [Democratic state Rep. Bill Faison, a candidate for governor] from a painful personal matter at a time when people in North Carolina want to talk about the economy and jobs.
My Dad has been a leader in speaking out with a solution to unemployment. The people I know in North Carolina want to talk about issues and solutions, not retaliation by ex-spouses.
I love my Dad, stand by him and support him 100 percent as do my brothers and sister. Because his personal safety was in jeopardy in a marriage, and for the safety and well-being of my brothers and sister, he made a difficult personal decision to end a long-term marriage and establish another household. Make no mistake about it, he left the marriage for the safety and well-being of my brothers and sister. I believe most North Carolinians would do the same and I know good parents will always do the same for their children.
