Orane Chin, Omondi Amoke, and Isiah Umipig all scored 18 points for the Cal State Fullerton Titans as they took down the UC Riverside Highlanders 77-64 in a Big West Conference bout at the UC Riverside Student Rec Center.
Amoke added 14 rebounds for the Titans (17-7, 9-3 Big West), who have won four in a row.
For UC Riverside (11-15, 5-8), Kareem Nitoto and Phil Martin led the way with 11 points each. Robert Smith and TJ Burke tallied 10 points apiece for the Highlanders, who have lost seven of eight.
Both teams shot well in the first half, with Fullerton making 44.4 percent of its shots overall and UC Riverside connecting on 43.8 percent from the floor. The Titans were able to take a 44-31 into halftime by connecting on 5-of-10 three-pointers and 7-of-10 free-throws.
Though UC Riverside improved its shooting to 54.5 percent from the floor in the second half, Fullerton kept its pace and held a lead as big as 23 in the second half. The Titans led the game wire-to-wire.
Fullerton held a commanding 44-28 advantage on the boards.
