From this afternoon to Sunday night, the Carolina Theatre in Durham is going to be taken over by the 13th annual Nevermore Film Festival. Seven new features, 21 shorts, and four classics ("Marathon Man," "Night of the Creeps," "Rosemary's Baby," "The Sentinel") will have multiple showings. Among the new roster of horror, gothic, and fantasy films, submitted by filmmakers from all over the world, are such intriguing titles as Jack Perez's "Some Guy Who Kills People," Mike Flanagan's "Absentia" and "Pandora and that Damned Box," a compilation of long-form shorts. Tickets for individual films are $9, ($6 for Star Members); $70 for a 10-pass in advance ($75 at the door). For members, 10-passes are $65.
