Elks honor middle schoolers

Thirty-eight students from 19 Wake County middle schools were named Middle School Outstanding students by the Raleigh Elks Lodge No. 735 Scholarship Committee.

Each student received a $50 U.S. Savings Bond, a certificate of achievement an a citation from N.C. House Rep. Nelson Dollar. They were selected on the basis of academic achievement, citizenship, character and leadership.

The following students were honored:

Carnage Middle School: Alexis Matthews and Junious Whitaker

Carroll Middle School: Collin Brown and Tian Liu

Centennial Campus Middle School: John Owen Clapp and Emily Andes

Daniels Middle School: William Beasley and Peyton Godwin

Durant Road Middle School: Natalie Hartofelis and Zachary Green

East Garner Middle School: Kelsey Micheal and Bryan Miles

East Millbrook Middle School: Diana Hughes and Jesse Cull

East Wake Middle School: Misti Ethridge and Praise Ekwubiri

Holly Grove Middle School: Jazmin Ramirez-Alvarez and Ezequiel Perez-Real

Holly Ridge Middle School: Tyra Mitchell and Zachary Braxton

Leesville Middle School: Walker Booth and Kayla Jensen

Martin Middle School: Divya Juneja and Matthew Aluko

Moore Square Middle School: Chantel Lynn and Michael Lisson

North Garner Middle School: Alean Graves and Johnaye Graves

Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School: Thomas Hebert and Faith Dias

Wakefield Middle School: Claire Brown and Jared Blaylock

Wendell Middle School: Adolph Simmons III and Dominique Speckhardt

West Millbrook Middle School: Tyran Flowers and Lydia Weinberger

Zebulon Middle School: Madison Swiger and Erick Jordan
