RIO GRANDE, P.R. -- The N.C. State men's golf team shot a second straight round of 4-over 292 Monday and is in 10th place after two days of the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club.

The Wolfpack is at 8-over 584 for the tournament, and is within striking distance of a handful of ranked clubs leading into today's final round.

Graham Baillargeon is the Wolfpack's 36-hole leader at 1-under 143 and is tied for 14th. He followed Sunday's 71 with an even-par 72.

Duke junior Julian Suri was named the Golfweek Player of the Week after he won the John Burns Intercollegiate at Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii last week.

He posted a career-low 11-under 205 to claim his second tournament title of the season and help Duke to a second-place tie with Nevada-Las Vegas.

Raleigh Sports Club: The club will meet Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Highland UMC, 1901 Ridge Road. Bob Alejo, N.C. State assistant athletics director for strength and conditioning, will be the guest speaker.

Admission is $14 for members and $20 for guests whether eating or not. For details go to www.raleighsportsclub.org.

Duke: Andrew Wenger was named the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year for men's soccer. He led Duke's six selections to the All-ACC academic team. The others were junior James Belshaw, freshmen Nat Eggleston and Nick Palodichuk and seniors Christopher and Daniel Tweed-Kent.

The 2011 All-ACC academic team included nine from Duke: Tara Campbell, Kelly Cobb, Kim DeCesare, Maddy Haller, Libby Jandl, Kaitlyn Kerr, Nicole Lipp, Mollie Pathman and Laura Weinberg.

Freshman Elizabeth Williams was voted the ACC Rookie of the Week after leading the Blue Devils to a women's basketball victory against Virginia Tech and a two-point loss at eighth-ranked Maryland last week.

Duke basketball standout Chelsea Gray has been named one of eight nominees for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which honors the nation's top collegiate point guard in women's Division I basketball.

Shaw: Women's basketball player Crystal Harris was named the CIAA Newcomer of the Week and coach Jacques Curtis was named coach of the week.

N.C. Central: Dominique Sutton was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball.
