Regarding the Feb. 21 front-page article "Tata and board members spar over Great Schools": When you have disagreements or concerns regarding the actions or affiliations of board members whom you work with on a daily basis and ultimately report to, you do not handle the situation via email (particularly when that email automatically becomes part of the public record). You request a face-to-face meeting for thorough discussion and greater comprehension on both sides. This is just one of many subsets of Business 101.
Running the Wake County school system is indeed a business, not a military operation with orders handed down from the general with colonels, majors, and captains scurrying around to carry them out with no questions asked. Yet another reason why retired Army Brig. Gen. Tony Tata continues to prove to be a less-than-optimum choice for Wake County schools superintendent.
