Carl Wallace Spragins, Jr., age 18, died Saturday evening in Wilmington. Born April 21, 1993 in Wake County, he was the son of Carl Wallace and Frieda Lowry Spragins of Smithfield. Wallace was preceded in death by grandparents, Vincent Lowry and Elmo and Lucy Spragins and an aunt, Gail Spragins.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Smithfield First Baptist Church, where he was a member. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Hannah Lowry Spragins; maternal grandmother, Queenie C. Lowry of Pembroke; aunt, Suzanne Beaney and husband Gerald of Fayetteville and uncles, Earnest V. Lowry of Pembroke and Elmo Dale Spragins and wife Anne of Littleton.
