Danica Patrick hasn't run a lap in Sprint Cup competition, but in its annual ranking of drivers and teams, Forbes estimates she made $12 million last year, moving her solidly into NASCAR's top 10 in driver earnings.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR's most-popular driver, is still No. 1 in the Forbes accounting. Jeff Gordon ranked second and Tony Stewart third.
The leading teams, Forbes also notes, are those fielded by NASCAR powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports. According to the Forbes estimates, the Hendrick organization remains NASCAR's highest-valued operation.
