Editor's note: This article was revised at 6:15 p.m. March 1, 2012, to correct the date of Zach Smith's tweet.

Zach Smith's tweet on Feb. 17 wasn't original, but it helped him score 4,000 free tacos to share with all his friends in Fuquay-Varina.

"If you retweet this tweet a tocobell truck will visit me and I will give everyone tacos. This is real! #DoritosLocosTacos #Contest," messaged the high school senior who goes by Zachs_On_Zachs on Twitter.

The direct appeal, even with the misspelling, landed Smith the grand prize in Taco Bell's Locos Tacos Hometown Tweetoff, which rewarded the person generating the most retweets.

The company will be debuting the new Locos taco in Fuquay-Varina in advance of its official release nationwide March 8.

The public is invited to visit the food truck from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at South Park, 820 S. Main Street in Fuquay-Varina.
