ATLANTA — Virginia beat N.C. State by a point in the team's only meeting of the regular season, a 61-60 win in Raleigh on Jan. 28.
Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried is looking forward to the chance to play the Cavaliers (22-8, 9-7) in the ACC tournament.
"I think (it) is going to be a great game," Gottfried said Thursday. "In my opinion, two good teams and both teams, in my opinion, deserve to be in the NCAA tournament. I think it's that kind of basketball game."
The Cavaliers will be without guard Malcolm Brogdon, who has a foot injury, and wing Joe Harris has been playing with a broken bone in his left hand. The two combined for 19 points in Virginia's win in Raleigh.
Virginia, which had a bye Thursday, has lost five of its past nine games.
