Duke Gardens sustained thousands of dollars in vandalism damage overnight Friday, according to Duke University officials.
Between late Friday and Saturday morning, vandals broke about 40 terra cotta pots in the rose garden, located in the middle of Duke’s campus. The lower terraces were broken.
A piece of sculpture within a terrace fountain also was damaged, as was a sign for the Asiatic Arboretum.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact Duke Police at 684-2444.
