ST. LOUIS — Were it possible to be in two places at once, tonight would be the time Steve and Lorri Zeller of Washington, Ind., might choose.

Their middle son, UNC senior Tyler, will face Ohio at 7:47 p.m. in an NCAA Midwest Regional semifinal game at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

In the NCAA South semifinal at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, center Cody Zeller of Indiana (27-8) will be a key player against tournament favorite Kentucky (34-2).

Since Tyler is a senior and Cody a freshman, the Zellers made the decision to watch Tyler tonight.

“Both of my parents are coming here because of seniority. It is my last year, so they will both be here,” Tyler said Thursday.

The third – and oldest – Zeller brother is former Notre Dame standout Luke. He won’t be in St. Louis or Atlanta because he is playing in the NBA Development League.

Luke is averaging 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Austin Toros (27-16), who will host the Maine Red Claws tonight.

During the Big Ten-ACC Challenge in November, the Zellers had an interesting situation when Indiana played at N.C. State in a 7:15 game on the same night North Carolina hosted Wisconsin at 9:30. Somehow, they caught most of both games – wins by both sons.

It was an impressive performance even by Tobacco Road standards, but a similar performance will not be possible tonight.
