It's a fact, Pack: Early hoops rankings are high on State

N.C. State basketball standouts Lorenzo Brown and C.J. Leslie haven’t officially announced that they will return to school in 2012-13, but expectations are already high for the Wolfpack in Mark Gottfried’s second season as head coach.

NBC-TV sports web site College Basketball Talk has State ranked No. 4 in its current preseason poll.

The Pack, 24-13 after losing by three points to Kansas in the NCAA Midwest semifinals, is listed behind Indiana, Louisville and Kentucky on the NBC site.

Ohio State is No. 5, followed by Kansas, Michigan, Baylor, Creighton and Memphis in the top 10.

Duke is No. 11 and UNC No. 21. No other ACC schools are ranked.

ESPN college basketball reporter Andy Katz has State No. 6 _ behind Indiana, Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky and Ohio State.

Behind State are Michigan State, Michigan, Florida and Baylor in the No. 10.

ESPN has UNC at No. 11 and Duke 15.
