A 44-year-old Apex man has been arrested and accused of duct-taping an infant's wrists and ankles together, along with duct-taping the child's mouth.
Sebastian Fitzgerald Holcomb of 9108 Creek Glen Way was arrested Friday, according to court documents.
While his roommate was doing dishes, Holcomb sat in the dining room with her baby and first taped its ankles and wrists together. Then he taped the 18-month-old's mouth shut. When the mother discovered what had happened, she took her child from the home and called 911 from a friend's house, according to Capt. Ann Stephens of the Apex police.
The baby was not injured and was not transported to the hospital, said Stephens.
Holcomb has been charged with assault on a child under 12 and is being held in the Wake County Jail pending a June court date.
